A little memory is all you need

For the files you remember.
And the names you don’t.

Start with a word, a file type or a supported date expression.
Get back to the document, without retracing every folder.

01 / LOOK INSIDE

Remember a word.
Not the filename.

Search any local filename. For PDF, PNG and JPEG files, look inside too: find words in documents, with local OCR for text in scans and images.

A glance. A Space.

Your files don’t need
a round trip.

Internet required once for activation. File searching works offline.

The intended release flow: activate online once, then search offline without recurring license checks.

Something else on your mind? We’re here.

When can I download Nook?

We’re getting Nook ready for your Mac. The installer and checkout are coming soon, and there isn’t a download to share just yet. We’ll publish compatibility details here before release. In the meantime, you can always email us.

How much will it cost?

International: $9 USD, then $19 USD. India: ₹699 INR, then ₹1,499 INR. Introductory prices apply to the first 100 paid purchases total across both regions. All prices include applicable tax. One payment, no subscription. For launch, Dodo checkout is planned to set prices by billing country and manage local currency conversion outside India from the USD base. Website region choices change display prices only. Checkout is coming soon.

What can Nook find?

Search local filenames across all file formats. Text, OCR and meaning-related content search support PDF, PNG and JPEG files. Local OCR finds text in supported scans and images; an on-device AI model helps find related meaning. Other formats are searchable by filename, not their contents.

How does AI help with file search?

Nook brings on-device AI to Spotlight-style file search. It helps find related meaning inside supported PDF, PNG and JPEG files, alongside filename search across formats. Try expressions such as “passport”, “invoice PDFs” and “PDFs from last week”. Nook focuses on local files, not apps, system settings or web results; image search uses text, not arbitrary object recognition.

Does searching need the internet?

The intended first-release promise is: Internet required once for activation. File searching works offline. Accepted activation will be stored locally, with no recurring license checks. Purchase and activation will be online.

Is there a free trial?

No. Nook is a one-time paid tool, with no trial or free search tier. The installer will be free to download once published, but both indexing and file searching require paid activation.

Do my documents leave my Mac?

Nook’s file searching, OCR and meaning-related model are designed to run on your Mac, not in a cloud search service. Purchase and activation are separate online steps. Read the pre-release privacy notice for the distinction between the app and this website.

Which Macs will it support?

We’ll share supported macOS versions and hardware requirements alongside the installer. Those details are still being finalised, so we don’t want to guess.
