This pre-release notice describes the intended app approach and how this website is served. We’ll publish final app privacy details before the download becomes available.
Your files, on your Mac.
Nook searches local filenames across all file formats. Text, OCR and meaning-related content search support PDF, PNG and JPEG files; other formats are searchable by filename only. File processing, local OCR and the on-device AI model are designed to run on your Mac rather than sending your documents to a cloud search service.
The Mac download is coming soon. This notice will be updated before it arrives.
Online activation, offline searching.
Internet required once for activation. File searching works offline.
That is the planned first-release flow. It involves Dodo’s hosted checkout, a key delivered by Dodo, and online activation in the Mac app. Accepted activation is intended to be stored locally, with no recurring license checks for subsequent offline file searching.
Purchase and activation services are not live. Final information about payment and activation data handling will be published before sales. Do not treat the local-file approach as a promise that every part of the service is offline.
This website is different.
This website is hosted through Cloudflare. Hosting infrastructure may process basic request information, such as IP addresses, requested URLs and browser information, to serve and protect the site.
Hosting analytics and security logs may also be involved. The local-file approach of the app is not a promise that website visits involve no logs, tracking or network processing.
The illustrative search demo uses a fixed set of fictional files. It does not read, upload or search documents from your device. Reddit and X sharing links only take you to those services if you choose to click; their own privacy practices then apply.

If you email support, your email address and anything you include are shared through the email service used for that conversation. Please don’t send sensitive files or payment details. A final retention policy is not established in this provisional notice.
