Nook by Kooki / terms
Clear from
the beginning.
A few straightforward notes about this website and Nook’s upcoming release.
Pre-release information · 19 October 2026
Checkout and the Mac download are coming soon. Final product and purchase terms will be published before checkout becomes available.
What this website shows.
Nook is a private file finder for Mac. These pages introduce the upcoming release. The installer, checkout and activation flow aren’t available here yet.
Nook searches local filenames across formats. Text, OCR and meaning-related content search support PDF, PNG and JPEG files, not the contents of every format.
Sample file interfaces are illustrations, not real app captures. The demo uses sample files and does not access your documents.
The planned commercial model.
Checkout is coming soon. International: $9 USD, then $19 USD. India: ₹699 INR, then ₹1,499 INR. Introductory prices apply to the first 100 paid purchases total across both regions. All prices include applicable tax. For launch, Dodo checkout is planned to set prices by billing country and manage local currency conversion outside India from the USD base. Website region choices change display prices only. These website display prices are not connected to checkout yet.
Nook is planned as paid-only, with a one-time payment, no subscription and no free trial. Search and indexing require paid activation. The installer will be free to download once published; downloading it will not unlock search or indexing.
Internet required once for activation. File searching works offline. This is the intended first-release promise; the purchase and activation flow is not available yet.
Supported macOS versions, hardware requirements and full license conditions are still to be confirmed.
Before anything is sold.
Purchase terms, license conditions, refund information and final privacy details will need to be available before sales open.
